Structural Strength Through Steel

Clearspan structures use steel in accordance with Australian standards, designed specifically for structural performance. This provides superior load-bearing capacity, long-term structural integrity, resistance to weather events and stability without compromise. 

Hot Dip vs. Pre-galvanised

While both options use zinc to protect steel, the processes determine the level of protection. Pre-galvanised steel is coated before it is cut or welded, often leaving “edges” or weld points exposed to the elements and creating weak spots where rust can form.

Hot dip galvanising is the gold standard for industrial longevity. The entire steel component is submerged in a vat of molten zinc, resulting in a thick, uniform coating that protects the steel from the inside out.

It is a Clearspan practice to use Hot dip galvanising whenever practical.

Australian Made to Quality Assured Standards

There is a tangible risk in opting for cheap, imported steel that may not meet the Australian Standards. Queensland’s extreme conditions, including UV and wind speeds, mean that quality assured materials are essential, not just a preference.
